FAMILYFARMED PROGRAM MANAGER 

Salary: $67,000 

Location: Chicago, Illinois

Job Summary: 

The Program Manager is responsible for managing administration and delivery for FamilyFarmed programs and activities, primarily the Good Food Accelerator, Market Access Program and Farmer Training. The Program Manager will report to FamilyFarmed’s Chief Operating Officer and will supervise the Member Coordinator while collaborating with program consultants and other FamilyFarmed staff. 

To be successful in this important role, you need to be comfortable leading programs that depend on the contributions of volunteers in order to be able to provide support to Members/participants while also providing direction for Member recruitment and retention, leading cohort programs and activities and ensuring Member and volunteer satisfaction. Ultimately, an excellent Program Manager should be a strong manager with an ability to solve problems, proactively identify opportunities and risks to the organization and a talent for building strong relationships within FamilyFarmed and with its external stakeholders. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Good Food Accelerator (60%) 

  • Overall program management 
  • Cohort programs management 
  • Curriculum oversight/management 
  • Volunteer recruitment/engagement/issue resolution 
  • Member recruitment/engagement 
  • Program budget management 
  • Business counsel for Members (with support of external consultants) 
  • Metrics tracking and reporting 
  • Primary point of contact for GFA’s volunteers, Associate Board and other key stakeholders 
  • Expanding GFA’s community and industry engagement  

Market Access Program (20%) 

  • Overall program management 
  • Retailer recruitment/support 
  • Participant coordination/coaching 
  • Program budget management 
  • Metrics tracking and reporting 

Farmer Training (10%) 

  • Overall program management 
  • Trainer engagement/coordination 
  • Content development/execution 
  • Farmer engagement/support 

Other Activities (10%) 

  • Direct manager of Member Coordinator (Good Food Accelerator/Naturally Chicago); indirect manager of Program Coordinator (Good Food is Good Medicine) 
  • Member of FamilyFarmed leadership team 
  • Special projects as assigned 
  • Contributing to development and implementation of overall GFA/FF strategic plans 

 Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s level college degree or relevant work experience 
  • At least 10 years of experience in non-profit management or relevant field 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong MS Excel and MS PPT skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to identify new ways to expand stakeholder service and satisfaction 
  • Experience developing/enhancing curriculum and learning offerings 
  • Demonstrated experience managing people and budgets 
  • Experience using processes, tools and metrics as foundational management tools 
  • Demonstrated collaborative mindset 
  • Able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines in an evolving program 
  • Performance management and coaching experience
