11th Annual FamilyFarmed Good Food Financing & Innovation Conference
Wednesday, November 6, 2019
Morgan Manufacturing, 401 N. Morgan St., Chicago
If you are an investor, entrepreneur, emerging brand or otherwise involved in building a better food system, don’t miss the 2019 Good Food Financing & Innovation Conference on Wednesday, November 6, at Morgan Manufacturing in Chicago’s Fulton Market district!
Now celebrating its 11th year, this industry-leading event is the Midwest’s premier gathering for thought leaders, innovators, stakeholders and entrepreneurs across Chicago’s booming Good Food and Natural Products landscape. And Naturally Chicago, just launched this May, will play a major role in the Conference as presenter of the competitive entrepreneurial Pitch Slam!
Seth Goldman — Executive Chairman of Beyond Meat — is this year’s keynote speaker. He has steered two of the most successful and dynamic startups on the Good Food landscape. Beyond Meat’s plant-based burgers, sausage and other meat alternatives are transforming people’s dining habits. Beyond Meat had a hugely successful IPO this spring, and its current valuation is over $11 billion. Goldman’s role at Beyond Meat segued from his earlier huge success as founder and “TeaEO” of Honest Tea, which he sold to Coca Cola.
The all-star lineup continues with a fireside chat featuring Kimball Musk and Dave Donnan. Musk is a chef, restauranteur, and philanthropist who co-founded and chairs The Kitchen Restaurant Group, which serves real food at every price point; the non-profit organization Big Green, which builds permanent, outdoor Learning Garden classrooms in hundreds of underserved schools across America, reaching more than 350,000 students every day; and Square Roots, a tech-enabled, urban farming company. Donnan — a member of the Naturally Chicago and FamilyFarmed boards of directors — is partner emeritus and former longtime global food and beverage lead for the A.T. Kearney management consulting company, and one of the leading experts in food marketing around the world.
Other featured programming includes a social responsibility project on November 5 led by New Hope Network’s Esca Bona thought leadership program (a partner in the Good Food Financing & Innovation Conference); the Naturally Chicago Pitch Slam, which has a prize package valued at more than $100,000; the annual Financing Fair, which enables entrepreneurs, investors, funders, lenders, and service providers to gain visibility and connect with other stakeholders who can help grow their businesses. The event will conclude with a separately ticketed Evening Fundraiser.
